Revisiting the Discussion of Mo’Nique vs Netflix

If Black people would scrutinize half the shit White people shove down our throats every day the way we are scrutinizing and going in on Mo’Nique, we would be in a much better position.
This is not about whether Mo’Nique is wrong or right, but about the fact that if she were White, we would not be digging this deep or going in this hard on her.
Hell, we jump our Black asses on White causes all the time without a second thought. We were the first to join the LGBTQ fight over the last five years, which subsequently cost us ground gained through “Civil Rights” legislature in the 1960s — rights the Supreme Court deemed unconstitutional — all while upholding the position of the LGBTQ community, who used our legislature to create their initial position.
I am not upset with the LGBTQ community, they only did what many others before them did — enlist the help of Blacks to help fight a war that was not there’s and then leave them high and dry to fight their own battles.
The problem is we don’t have an agenda, nor do we have effective protocols in place that would automatically dictate what we would do in this situation, so everybody reacts off of emotion and how they feel. How we feel should not matter, only what is best for the collective.
We don’t question shit, unless it comes from the mouth or mind of a Black person, with the exception being those Blacks in Whiteface who represent White interests above Black progress.
Every other group has a clear economic, educational, social, and political agenda, except Blacks — we just keeping moving based on our feelings. If we don’t change our approach and embrace our identity — through self-love and unification of purpose, we will find ourselves dead in the water! ~ Rick Wallace, Ph.D., Psy.D.
