Prince Continues to Break Music Records After His Death ~ Anyone that had any doubts that Prince was a musical legend in his own right and still holds the hearts of his fans even after his death will be surprised to know that the artist may have never achieved as much fame as he has since his passing.

The proof lies in the records he continues to break from the other side.

It has been over a month since The Purple One passed on but he continues to make music history by dominating the top of the Billboard 200 album chart, He currently holds the record for the highest number of positions held on the chart in a one-week span.
In the week of May 14th, Prince had 19 albums – yes, 19 albums – on the chart. If he had had one more album he would have controlled a tenth of the whole chart. In comparison, The Beatles, who were the previous record holders, had 13 albums on the chart in a single week.

Among Prince’s albums “The Very Best of Prince” managed to reach the #2 position. That was followed by “Purple Rain” at #3, “The Hits/The B-Sides” at #4 and “1999” at #7.

The #2 album, “The Very Best of Prince” had actually managed to reach the top spot – right before it was kicked back down a spot by Beyoncé’s latest work, “Lemonade,” on May 14. The diva had released the album on April 23 – two days after Prince had passed away.

Other albums that are also on the Billboard chart are “Sign ‘O’ Times,” “Around the World in A Day” and “Controversy.”

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the US by gauging their individual sales numbers, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

During the week of April 21 to 28 Prince sold 4.41 million copies of his various albums and songs.
