Racist WomanWho Resigned After Racist Tirade Blames Black Man for Her Disgusting Behavior

The Connecticut woman who resigned from her secretarial job at a local high school claims she was provoked by a Black man, causing her to launch into a racist tirade inside an East Haven supermarket on Friday.

Former Hamden Public High School clerk Corinne Terrone was seen in a viral video using the N-word toward an African-American man several times during a heated encounter at a ShopRite grocery store. School district officials were swift in condemning Terrone’s “abhorrent” behavior and said she “rendered her resignation effective immediately” after being called in for an investigatory meeting regarding the incident.

Terrone is now painting herself as a victim in the matter, saying she blew up at the Black man after he swore at her.

“I was walking down the front center aisle in front of the cash register, and I turned around to my daughters, and I said, ‘Oh, Jesus Christ, ‘” she said in a nearly seven-minute call to the Easton Police Department. “And this Black man, in his little scooter, got up in front of me and said ‘are you talking to me, b—h?’ And I said ‘no (n-word), I’m not.’ And now they’re telling me I’m racial profiling.”

After cursing the dispatcher who informed her that she had dialed the wrong police department, local station WFSB reports that Terrone then called East Haven Police multiple times saying she wanted to make a statement. The catch? Authorities had to come to her home in New Haven to get it.

“Ma’am, I’m not going to sit here and argue with you,” the 911 dispatcher told her. “If you want to make a complaint, you come to the station or go back to ShopRite, other than that I have nothing to say to you.”

That’s when Terrone laughed at the dispatcher, after which they responded: “All right ma’am, I’m not laughing, have a good night.”

In a video posted to Facebook, Terrone repeatedly hurls racial slurs at the man and dares him to put his hands on her as she proceeds to berate him in front of her two children and other stunned shoppers. At one point, she chases and spits at the man as he attempts to walk away from her.

“Put your hands on me, come on!” Terrone screams. “You motherf—-r! That’s right, you’re a n—-r in East Haven. F–k you, n—-r.”

So far, authorities said no one, including the victim, has come forward to report the incident.

“We’re in touch with ShopRite and are looking to get a better understanding of what took place [Friday] night,” East Haven Police Lt. Joseph Murgo said in a statement announcing the department was “aware of the disturbing video and the hate speech contained in it.

“We have a lot of avenues to go down if somebody were to reach out to us,” he added. “We want somebody to come forward … if they were present [Friday] night.”

The Department of Children and Families has also gotten involved and are investigating because Terrone was with her two young daughters when the incident unfolded.

As reported by WFSB, New Haven police said they responded to a Quinnipiac Avenue address listed as Terrone’s to perform a welfare check of a 40-year-old woman on Saturday.

“Based on the information provided, the woman’s history, and the woman’s interaction with police on scene, New Haven police sent the woman via ambulance to the hospital for a mental health evaluation,” authorities said in a statement.

If and when the victim finally comes forward, police said Terrone could possibly face charges of disturbing the peace and even assault for spitting on the man. Authorities said they may also consider other charges stemming from the incident.

Hamden Mayor Curt Balzano Leng has described the former clerk’s behavior as “stomach-turning” and “vile.”

“While I am disgusted and disheartened seeing such hateful behavior, wildly unacceptable anywhere, I am thankful for the swift and effective actions taken by our school system to address this head on and make clear that hate and violence will not be tolerated,” Leng said.
