What Happened to Sandra Bland: Facts vs. Fiction!

bland29n-3-webThe following excerpt was originally posted on my personal Facebook page, and based on the tone and verbiage in the post, it is obvious that I was a bit perturbed by the broad speculation and the lack of reason that is being demonstrated by those who have no intentions of engaging the facts. First of all, I believe that I have more than established myself as pro-black and anti-establishment, but I have also always committed myself to truth in lieu of speculation and postulation based on emotionalism.

What is submitted here is the demand that blacks stop jumping on every bandwagon simply because it supports their theory. The objective should always be truth — truth, in conjunction with consistency, is the foundation on which credibility and respect are developed. If we are to be taken serious, we must be willing to engage facts that may not support our theories. We have to be willing to acknowledge when we may have spoken hastily on a matter. Am I saying that Sandra Bland killed herself, at this time, I have to say that I don’t know. What I can say is that I have seen a lot of things that are not receiving enough attention, things that point to the possibility that she may have taken her own life.

What disgusts me is all of the false stories and theories like the “dead in the mugshot theory,” which makes absolutely no sense (see excerpt for explanation). The truth is that it is easier for blacks to believe that she was murdered than it is to believe that a black person took their own life under distress. I have conducted a significant amount of research since this surfaced, and what I have uncovered is that there has actually been more formulated BS from our side than the side of law enforcement. Don’t get me wrong, there were definitely some spins placed on the story by law enforcement, which will always going to be the case; however, some of the stuff that was being circulated by us and all of these desktop psychologists was absolutely ridiculous.

It is time that we step back and begin to break this down piece by piece. At this point, I will say that regardless of whether Sandra Bland killed herself or she was murdered, the video of the arrests presents enough to declare that she was wrongfully arrested, and therefore, responsibility for her death begins with DPS. If at some time, there is evidence that supports murder charges, then we will move for that as well, but from what I am hearing the second and independent autopsy, which was ordered and paid for by Sandra Bland’s family, also came to the conclusion that her death was caused by suicide. I am still attempting to confirm this for myself. I do know that the results of that second autopsy have been kept on the hush, and that says a lot.

Well, read my post and hopefully, it will spark some dialogue that can actually serves to move us in a direction in which we gain ground in a number of areas that go beyond meaningless debate.  ~ Dr. Rick Wallace, Ph.D.

“How in the hell can we ever expect to discover the truth when we are participating in the lie. This latest footage reveals so much. First of all, it blows away the idea that she was dead in her mug shot, and that she was dead when she arrived at the jail. It also shows a number of other things that are obvious to me.

People, black and white, are profiting from this, and the more sensationalized it becomes, the more money there is to be made. Stop believing everything you hear from either side. There is enough in that arrest video to make a case for wrongful arrest, and that alone may be enough to win a wrongful death case, but creating BS that didn’t really happen, and posting a bunch of emotional speculation doesn’t help, it just fuelsthe flames that feed those who want to capitalize off of her death.

Actually, if simple rationalization would be used instead of emotionalism, you would not even need this video to prove that the mug shot theory was BS. I believe it was Jason Richardson who first pointed out the fact that the theory of her being dead in her mug shot was BS by illuminating the fact that she was alive and well at her arraignment, and I pointed out that she made a number of calls that could be verified and spoke with her sister the following day.

The one thing I know is that this young lady fought for a cause bigger than herself, despite her own struggles, but she died alone and scared, and we are so unorganized and full of individualized thought to the point they could not even come up with the $500 necessary to post the $5,000 bond. We love to point the finger, but we never want to look within. Even if she was killed by someone in that jail, there were two days in which her people could have bonded her out and saved her life, but that would require collectivism — a united concern for blacks, especially those arrested under suspicious circumstances.

I see so many people discussing half-baked theories that support their postulations about what happened to this woman. Stop it. The truth is that it is much easier to believe that one of the most elaborate cover-ups since the Kennedy and Kings assassinations has taken place than it is to engage the possibility that Sandra Bland found herself in the perfect storm to produce her demise, and that maybe everybody has some culpability in what happened.

To most of you, she is simply something to vent about. To others, she is a cause, but to her mother she is a daughter, and to her sister, a sister. She is more than photos and videos, and what happened to her deserves more than speculation and theory to support individual agendas.”
